Somabay hosts Oceanman’s international open-water swimming championship the grand finale by the Red Sea

Somabay, owned & operated by the Red Sea’s prominent real estate developer “Abu Soma Touristic Development Company” (ASDC), is hosting the ‘Oceanman’ World Open-water Swimming Championship Finale, from the 2nd to the 4th of Dec 2021. Sheraton Somabay, the official hotel partner, will be offering all the attendees splendid experiences.


The overall championship accounts for a total of 3,000 attendees, including 1500-2000 swimmers between professionals & amateurs; from 45 different countries. The top winners are to receive generous money prizes ranging from 10,000-15,000 Euros.

The championship’s finalists and qualifiers (age brackets ranging from eight years old to 70 years old) will gather in Somabay for the 2-in-1 grand finale. This exceptional arrangement allows amateur contestants the opportunity to compete alongside elite professional swimmers from around the world. Amateur participants get to compete in the open category (without prior qualifications).


It is worth mentioning, this is the second year for the Oceanman Championship in Egypt, and the first year for Somabay to host this prestigious event. Somabay’s Oceanman Championship also has the pleasure of welcoming to its festivities: Ferry Weertman – 2016 Swimming Gold medalist Olympian.
