Dettol First to Prove Efficacy Against Covid-19 Combats the 2nd Wave

Being scientifically-proven efficacy against Covid-19 and in light of Dettol Egypt’s keen interest in limiting the spread of the virus during the second wave, Dettol sought to resume its conscientious prevention endeavors via collaborating with the Supreme Council of University Hospitals (SCUH).
In line with this collaboration, Dettol Egypt has allocated about EGP 1m for procuring thousands of medical masks to governmental hospitals. The donations are meant to enhance the designated hospitals’ safety & prevention standards and to avail the necessary protection to the healthcare providers. In this regard, Mr. Om Prakash – General Manager of Dettol Egypt, commented: “Ever since the pandemic outbreak, Dettol Egypt has dedicated plentiful resources and initiated social services toward reinforcing the preventive measures taken by the governmental hospitals. Our collaboration with the (SCUH) aims at protecting Egypt’s White Army during the second wave of the Coronavirus. Accordingly, and out of our firm belief that they are the first line of defense for the Egyptian society
during the pandemic, we have provided 190,000 medical masks designed to protect physicians, nurses, and hospital support staff.”

On his part, Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar – Secretary-General of the Supreme Council|University Hospitals and spokesperson for the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MOHESR), praised the eminent role played by the ministry in an attempt to protect the Egyptian society from diseases, by commenting: “Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, the Ministry of Higher education & scientific research has spared no effort toward attaining the highest standards of prevention against this pandemic inside its teaching hospitals. Additionally, and in light of the Covid-19-second wave, we appreciate how Dettol Egypt have seen their initiative through,
in order to provide protection for Egyptians against the Coronavirus”.
It is worth noting that Dettol Egypt has taken it upon itself to activate the infection control procedures in the (MOHESR) facilities, by providing 12,000 liters of Dettol’s disinfectant liquid, right after its products being scientifically proven effective against Covid-19. The initiative aims to raise the efficiency of sterilization and disinfection processes in 65 university hospitals and a number of universities & research centers for infection control in 19 governorates; northern governorates from which, such as Alexandria, Port Said, and Ismailia, and southern governorates, such as Beni Suef and Minya, as well as Delta governorates, such as Damietta and Beheira.
