As part of the bilateral strategic cooperation between Arab Republic of Egypt and its sister nation Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:Elsewedy and the Energy and Water Academy Sign a Memorandum of Understanding Agreement to Develop Educational Programs in the Energy and Industrial Fields
Cairo, October 2023: Within the framework of the strategic cooperation between Arab Republic of Egypt and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of technical vocational training and higher education, Elsewedy EDTECH and Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA), affiliated to Elsewedy Electric Foundation, received a delegation from the Energy and Water Academy, One of the strategic partnership institutes affiliated with the General Organization for Technical and Vocational Training, in a strategic partnership with ACWA Power International, owned partially by the Public Investment Fund.
During the visit, two cooperation agreements were signed, aiming to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences and foster collaboration between the two parties. The agreement is meant to contribute to the realization of Egypt’s 2030 Education Vision, which focuses on building a knowledge-based economy rooted in innovation and training, and Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision for sustainable development through technical training and development.
Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy, Chairman of the Board of Trustees – Elsewedy EDTECH, stated that partnering with a significant institution like the Energy and Water Academy is centered on the exchange of knowledge and experiences in the domains of energy, industry, and higher education. This collaboration aims to establish valuable partnerships and strengthen them within the realms of training, academia, and research.
Eng. Elsewedy noted that the cooperation agreement with the Energy and Water Academy will enhance collaborative efforts and facilitate the exchange of training and consulting experiences, encompassing both trainers and contemporary training methodologies. He pointed out that Elsewedy’s commitment to signing memorandums of understanding with various institutions is aimed at improving trainees’ efficiency, equipping them with specialized theoretical and practical training to meet the actual demands of the labor market. This, in turn, contributes to addressing unemployment, promoting social justice, and enhancing competitiveness in the economic sphere to achieve sustainable development goals.
Eng. Tariq Al-Shamrani, the CEO of the Energy and Water Academy, stated that the partnership between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its sister nation, the Arab Republic of Egypt, is a natural extension of their joint efforts to bolster cooperation across various economic sectors, particularly in the domains of energy and industry. The primary objective is to exchange knowledge and develop contemporary training methods, thereby advancing sustainable development and elevating standards of quality and performance.
Eng. Al-Shamrani added that this collaboration is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the capacity to harness knowledge for performance improvement among current and future generations. This will be achieved through the exchange of consultations and trainers, as well as the implementation of training programs hosted at the Energy and Water Academy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) in the Arab Republic of Egypt. These endeavors aim to realize the shared strategic objectives of this cooperation.
About STA:
Elsewedy Technical Academy (STA) was established in 2011 as a commitment from El Sewedy Electric Group for community development and the development of technical education and vocational training in Egypt in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education in a dual education system for three years, and the study is based on practical training of 80% in partner factories and 20% theoretical education at school. STA grants accredited international certificates according to each specialty, in addition to the benefits it provides to its students.
