Allianz Egypt Renews Official Insurance Sponsorship of “Butterfly Queen” Farida Osman for Next Two Years

Cairo, March 2023: Allianz Egypt, the leading insurance company, announced today the renewal of the official insurance sponsorship of Egyptian swimming champion Farida Osman for the upcoming two years.

Dubbed “Egypt’s Butterfly Queen,” the sponsorship of Osman includes facilitating the required support in her pursuit towards the Paris 2024 Olympics in France.

On the other hand, Osman will supervise an annual training camp, held cooperatively with Allianz Egypt, for the preparation of talent from the children of the company’s employees and its clients who are passionate about the sport.

The sponsorship of Osman comes as part of Allianz’s strategy of supporting Egyptian sports and athletes, especially swimmers, which goes in line with the state’s efforts, represented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, to prepare contestants for the Paris Olympic Games due in 2024.

“We are delighted at the renewal of the Allianz Egypt ambassador Farida Osman to continue together the pursuit of the tremendous success of ‘Egypt’s Butterfly Queen’ said Ayman Hegazy, Chairman and CEO of Allianz Egypt.

“At Allianz Egypt, we are keen on backing Egyptian sports to contribute to developing its environmental system through sponsoring our champions and specialized institutions that train and prepare athletic talents,” he said, adding that “Osman is one of the best examples of such success stories.”

“Allianz Egypt will work hard on raising social awareness as well as highlighting the efficacious endeavors of our athletic champions while supporting them in the process wherever they are” Hegazy added.

On his part, Mina Abdel-Shahid, Chief Market Management Officer at Allianz Egypt, said: “Supporting our champions is an integral part of our investment strategy that we are proud of.”

“It is our pleasure to recommence the sponsorship of our ambassador Farida Osman for a couple more years and continue our support of her fruitful journey that is filled with championships and medals,” he added.

According to Abdel-Shahid, the training camp, supervised by Osman, will be a great opportunity for the young participants to benefit from her input based on her expertise in the popular sport.

“Allianz is looking forward to further supporting the champion until she realizes her utmost dreams,” he reflected.

“The Butterfly Queen” takes pride in Allianz’s support.

“I am very proud that Allianz Egypt has renewed my sponsorship, being one of the multinational private companies keen on sponsoring sports, in general, and swimming, in particular. I can’t wait for such cooperation to be materialized during the preparations ahead of the Olympics games due in 2024,” Osman said.

“I am further enthusiastic about the training camp as a model that should be followed by other companies in backing sports and sportspersons in Egypt,” she added.

Sports represent one of the main areas of Allianz’s investment strategies in Egypt at a time when the leading insurance institution company seeks to invest in developing the country’s environmental system. The company has been offering support to Egyptian champions and sports institutions; the last of them is the cooperation renewed with Post Swimming Academy, which qualifies young talents to compete at international championships.
